There's a new reason for construction workers
to feel macho: The "Outlaw" a cowboy hardhat
that is OSHA-approved.
It is the latest construction and oilfield fashion
that's been sweeping the country and certain parts of the
world. And it is the product of one machinist's dream come
true in the petroleum and agricultural rich community of Bakersfield,
California.
The hat, which on Atkins 11th try at the testing facility,
met specifications outlined in ANSI's standard Z89.1-2003
Class G.E.C. Type 1, which includes the following standards:
- Electrical insulation.
- Impact resistance.
- Penetration resistance.
- Flammability.
- Water Absorption.
